Philosophy
We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to transform their smile for a lifetime of confidence! We value your time and make every effort to be efficient during your appointments and over the course of treatment.
Initial Exam
There is no fee for the initial exam. The first visit is approximately 15 to 30 minutes, which may consist of taking pictures and digital X-rays. If you or your child is ready for orthodontic treatment, records and consultation/orientation are the next step (please read below). If Dr. Bordeaux recommends waiting on orthodontic treatment, you or your child will be placed on a recall schedule for future examinations.
Records
If Dr. Bordeaux recommends starting orthodontic treatment at this time, diagnostic records, which take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete, are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and digital X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.
Consultation/Orientation
After Dr. Bordeaux has evaluated the diagnostic records of the patient’s case, he will discuss the personalized treatment options/plan in detail. This will be presented visually on computer with our consult program, thus ensuring your understanding of the recommendations.
Payment Options
We offer many payment options (including a no-interest, monthly payment plan) designed to suit different budgets. Cost of treatment is based on severity of the patient’s problem, time in treatment, and quality of care. This will also be discussed at the consultation appointment prior to initiating any treatment, thus making the most of the valuable time you have set aside from your busy schedule to meet with us.
Insurance
Bordeaux Orthodontics accepts assignment from most insurance plans. Insurance coverage will be confirmed upon arrival at the office to help you determine available benefits. Assignment of benefits to us is available in most instances, and we will bill your company as a courtesy to you. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
- If payment is made in full at the onset of treatment, we offer a fee discount (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by your insurance benefit.) We also have discounts for more than one family member in treatment.
- For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
- In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be placed on a maintenance level, until financial arrangements are made. We will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your initial appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 60 minutes. You will then see us at regular intervals 6 to 12 weeks apart for adjustments (which take 15 to 30 minutes). We schedule longer appointments in the morning and mid-morning and shorter appointments after school. By doing this, we do not reserve an entire afternoon for one or two patients but rather accommodate as many families as possible for after-school appointments. If you prefer to come to the office during a quieter time, please schedule an appointment during school hours. We make every effort to be on time for our patients.
